Lockdown Virtual Choir Videos

I can't lie - I was very nervous about making these! But what resulted was something we were all very proud of! A lot of people aren't sure how these things work. Basically, all the ladies at home had to record their video all by themselves, with me singing in their ear. So they have to submit a video with just their voice singing so they can all be mixed together to form a virtual choir. It is not easy and requires a lot of jiggery pokery to get all set up!!!! I was very proud of everyone for figuring out the technology and being brave enough to submit their videos. I then had to mix the voices together (all 90 of them!) and then learn how to be creative with the visuals. 

For our first video 'You're the Voice' we actually recorded them all at the same time. This meant they only had 2 shots at getting it right. I conducted them through it via Facebook Live. It added another dimension to it - knowing we were all recording it together was a real buzz and it felt like a performance and was quite an 'event' for us during lockdown. It really put a smile on my face seeing all their lovely faces coming through. 

Following the success of You're the Voice I found myself suggesting a Christmas Video. We chose Sing Noel as it is a choir favourite. I was particularly proud of this one as I had only 3 weeks to complete it, and managed it with minimal help from my husband! I can safely say it was harder work than our usual season of Christmas gigs, but it is a lovely memento we now have to keep and share forever.
